Five cloud cost mistakes (and how to fix them)

Most cloud overspend isn't dramatic — it's a slow accumulation of small inefficiencies that no one owns.
The usual suspects: over-provisioned instances, idle resources left running, unattached storage, chatty cross-region traffic, and a lack of autoscaling. Individually minor; together, a meaningful share of the bill.
The fix starts with visibility. Tag everything, set budgets and alerts, and review usage on a cadence. From there, right-size workloads, adopt autoscaling and spot capacity where appropriate, and architect to minimize data egress.
Done well, FinOps isn't a one-time cleanup — it's a habit that keeps spend aligned with value as you grow.
